New Boots, April 21, 2001

After morning coffee at Victor's in Redmond I drove up the east side of Lake Sammamish toward Issaquah, where my quest for new cowboy boots would begin...

Lake Sammamish from Redmond, looking westward toward the Bellevue side...

I was passed by a small tank as I entered Issaquah...

I lunched at XXX Root Beer in Issaquah - as fine a burger joint as any in the land. Classic T-Birds were everywhere... Buddy Holly on the jukebox...

I didn't find what I was looking for at Issaquah, but a lady at Grange Western Supply pointed me toward Renton Western Wear, in Renton, where she said they had row upon row of cowboy boots. I proceeded thusly...

Renton Western Wear - these people know their boots! I came away with just what I wanted... Justin brand, distressed brown leather (Bay Apache)... and they fit like the proverbial glove...

Up from Renton through central Seattle... atop Queen Anne hill...
