Port Townsend, Washington State's "Victorian" seaport...
On the bluff above Port Townsend I came across this beautiful sight. The sun was beginning to sink low in the sky and the light was
perfect against the red of the arbutus (Arbutus
memzieii, aka "madrona") tree and the deep blue of Puget Sound. The digital camera couldn't quite pick it up, but snow-capped Mount Baker
was visible in the distance, on the mainland side of the Sound. I stayed
around for a half hour watching this man work, and I drove away inspired...
Getting on back to Seattle... the Hood Canal Bridge...
