Day 2 - Crater Lake

Morning view from the Klamath Falls Shilo Inn. Two groups of fighter jets flew over...

 

North from Klamath Falls along Upper Klamath Lake...

 

Left: We took a high road off Highway 97...   Right: From the top of the hill we looked back on 97... we could see Mt. Shasta in California...

We lunched at Melita's, further north on Highway 97 at Chiloquin...

 

 

Near Ft. Klamath...

 

       

 

   

 

 

 

Crater Lake National Park... on the way to the rim...

 

       

 

       

 

     

 

 

We walked out upon the south rim of Crater Lake and beheld natural beauty of the highest order... quite beyond words... and blue beyond any blue I've ever seen...

Then we hiked back up again... and it was breathtaking... literally!

We took lodging for the evening at Diamond Lake, a few miles north of Crater Lake. Mt. Bailey casts a reflection upon the lake...
