Jimi Hendrix died in September of 1970 from a drug overdose and was buried at Renton, Washington, a southern suburb of Seattle. As Redmond and Bellevue are connected with Microsoft, so Renton is with Boeing. The huge Boeing complex is visible to the west as one approaches the Renton exits on I-405...

Hendrix was an innovative guitar player and showman, but his "myth" has been wildly exaggerated by the big media hype machine and other parties (for money making purposes). In his latter years, Hendrix himself seemed well imbued with 60's pop star shallowness. Good guitar player? Yes. Folk hero? I think not...
