Mother and I drove down to Cooley Farm in Cherokee County South Carolina, at West Chesney, not far from Gaffney. We stopped at the Cowpens National Battlefield on the way. American General Daniel Morgan's troops whipped the British under Lieutenant Colonel Tarleton here in an important Revolutionary War battle...
